I recently have been to 4 different derms in 6 months because of my daughter's eczema. Finally, finally, finally the 4th doctor told me about Cetaphil lotion, but it has to read restoraderm on the bottle. The restoraderm is different than their original lotion. It is made with ingredients that mimic a protein in the body's skin that repels water and hydrates the skin. It has changed my daughter's life. We apply the lotion twice a day and it is the best product we have used. Please try this lotion, but again, it must say restoraderm. Oh, and use the restoraderm body wash, too! You and your babies will be happy once again! I find it at Target, but not in the lotion section, I had to look around and ask! It is a miracle!

Just a message for all parents that trying to manage their kids’ eczema. I have personally bought most of the books on Eczema however this one seemed to have all the answers parents need to know when tackling eczema without the use of steroids.

Hi,

I came across a very useful book called Heal Your Baby’s Eczema by Lucie Nunez who adresses both internal and external triggers in quite a detail. Allergy season is a steroid season its almost impossible not to. When their rashes get weepy and and open aquaphor mixed with calamine(yeah yeah yeah it's a "drying" agent) makes them stop itching and they love it because it doesn't burn. I could go on and on....

I have two young kids w complicated eczema and were still working on some things but oatmeal baths as long as they desire and while still soaking wet i pour oil all over them olive oil coconut oil shea butter anything that is oil based absorbs into skin rapidly then i top that with a water based oint or cream because it provides a barrier and when allergens are low this keeps them a ok. You can do this by using a vacuum cleaner instead of a mop or a broom. Also use mattress and pillow wraps to reduce the contact with dust mites.

Another great tip is to limit contact with certain allergens around the house. LOL). That can be quite soothing.:)

Baby Eczema definately sucks for both mother and child.

There are other things you can do like bathe your baby in lukewarm water with a handful of oatmeal thrown in (not cooked of course!
